When is the best time to visit? Is it by car and ferry?

Hello Tony,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Anytime is a great time to visit Prince Edward Island, but the most popular months are by far July and August. September and October are becoming favourite months too. In the summer months, our beaches are certainly a big draw for people, along with our festivals and events.
The fall is popular for those who like things a little bit slower, a little bit cooler, with still a lot of things happening. In late September, we have the PEI International Shellfish Festival, which leads into the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival. This is a three-week celebration of the best local food and drink on Canada’s Food Island.
You can drive to Prince Edward Island and either take the ferry from Nova Scotia or cross the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick into PEI. You can also fly into Prince Edward Island and rent a car to get around when you're here.
Regards,
Valerie
