Where can I find scenic hikes/walks near Summerside? Bonus if it is stroller friendly!

Good morning Stasha,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. There are a lot of great walking and hiking opportunities in the Summerside area.

The Summerside Baywalk Boardwalk is a 6.5 km trail that extends along the city’s waterfront and meets up with the Confederation Trail at various points. Very stroller friendly! The main parking lot is located by the Baywalk Sign on Water Street (across from Staples). There are also pedestrian/cycling entrances and a parking area located off Mackenzie Drive.

The Confederation Trail also runs through Summerside and is another great option for walking. The trail is mostly rolled gravel so it would depend on what kind of stroller you have for this trail.

Rotary Friendship Park, 599 MacEwen Road is a beautiful network of tree-lined gravel and clay trails plotted on a 64-acre parcel of land. The park contains a network of nearly 5 km of trails suitable for walking, running or cycling. The trails take you past farmers’ fields, wetlands and old-growth tree areas.

Enjoy your stay in Summerside!
