Where is the best kayak tour?

Answer by:

Hello, Ms. Stewart.

Thank you for reaching out on Ask An Islander.

There are a number of great kayaking experiences - river, bays and ocean tours --available across PEI.  We have a few suggestions depending on the type of kayaking experience you would like.

Bayside Recreation does kayak tours out of Morell in eastern PEI.  This is a 2 hour paddle from Indian Bridge to Morell, which takes you through the forest on the Morell River. We would recommend that you take an extended tour from Morell to St. Peter's Bay to Greenwich National Park.  This area is famous for its sand dunes and scenic views.

Outside Expeditions offers a kayak tour from North Rustico Harbour where you would ocean kayak on the north shore along sandstone cliffs beside the PEI national park where you can see a wide variety of birds. This kayak tour would be best on a calm south wind.

By the Sea Kayaking and Adventures in beautiful Victoria by the Sea, one of our favourite PEI villages. The tour leaves from Victoria Harbour on the south shore of PEI where the water tends to be calmer.  You can see the Confederation Bridge and also have an opportunity to dig bar clams that are cooked for you to enjoy.

I invite you to download or order our 2024 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!

We hope you enjoy your vacation in PEI and have a wonderful kayaking experience. There is so much to see and do in our beautiful province.

Thank you,

Marney & Wade
