Which campground (30 amp hookup) would be your choice for hiking? Are there any major differences between camping at a national park versus a provincial park?

Hi Richard,

Thank you for reaching out! With so many beautiful campgrounds to pick from, it is very hard to narrow down to one. A good thing about staying at one of the Prince Edward Island National Park campgrounds is that they are very centrally located and then you could travel to different trails all over the island and still be back by evening. They also have their own hiking and cycling trails within the park.

Our Provincial Park Campgrounds are beautiful too and are scattered all over the island! Most of them are located along the coastline. Cedar Dunes Campground for example has miles of beach and is close to West Point Lighthouse and their walking trails.

Provincial Parks are managed by the Province of Prince Edward Island and the Prince Edward Island National Park is managed by the Federal Government of Canada.

Wherever you decide to stay, finding a hiking trail close by won't be a problem.

Regards,

Valerie
