Which month is better to visit to get the full experience of P.E. Island? June or September. We want to enjoy and see things but not crowds of children off from school. Will everything be open to see - like museums in September versus June?

Hello Leslie,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander. Both June and September offer great opportunities to enjoy our beautiful Island. The weather is similar in that it is generally warm, but not uncomfortably hot and humid. The majority of places are open during both of these months, and most children will be in school.
In June, the spring lobster fishing season is in full swing; the lupins are in bloom, and the PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls fills the air with music and stories to kick off another tourism season. Depending on what activities you are interested in partaking, it is a very enjoyable time to visit Prince Edward Island.
In September, the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival, the Sommo Festival, and the PEI International Shellfish Festival are incredible occasions to celebrate with music and delicious food. The fall lobster fishing season is underway, and farmers' markets are bustling with folks enjoying fresh, local harvests.
Of course, there are ceilidhs (traditional celtic music concerts), theatre, golf, walking trails, museums and much more to explore during both of these months. If there is anything in particular that interests you, please feel free to visit our website to find more information about when is the best time to experience these interests. Enjoy PEI!
Kindly,
Lisa Campbell
