With two nights to spend in PEI , we thought one night in Summerside and would like a suggestion for the second night...perhaps the eastern side of the island. We arrive by ferry to Woods Island.

Hi Catherine,
There are lovely accommodations in eastern PEI and it would really depend on what you want to see in the area and where you would like to stay.
In Murray Harbour you can overnight in a floating wine barrel.
Montague has a few lovely B&B's.
Brudenell/Georgetown has cottages and an Inn as well as fabulous restaurants.
Souris/Fortune has varied accommodations as well.
If you would like an area with some nightlife, you can tour the Eastern area during the day and stay in or near Charlottetown for the evening. It is best to check listings at Tourism PEI.
There is a lot to see and do in the eastern area of PEI. Lighthouses at Cape Bear, Point Prim, Panmure Island, Souris and East Point are a few to visit.
Montague and Georgetown are charming small towns with artisan shops and lovely restaurants and craft breweries.
The singing sands at Basin Head are unique. Paddle board, bicycle and kayak rentals at Souris beach offer the opportunity for a different view of the island.
My tip: When I visit Summerside, I stay at Cairns Motel - a family run operation that is immaculately clean, very welcoming and fairly priced.
Enjoy your quick getaway on our beautiful Island!
