We are planning to stay one week in PEI in August. What is the best place to stay to enjoy everything there?

Hello Nadia,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander!

With just a week to explore Prince Edward Island, I often suggest that visitors stay somewhere in the Central region of the Island. That way, you're right in the middle and you can easily explore east or west from there and still get back to your accommodation by evening.

The Central region of PEI is divided into two Coastal Drives. Green Gables Shore and Red Sands Shore and it also includes our capital city of Charlottetown.

You can search for places to stay on the Tourism Prince Edward Island website under the tab 'Where to stay'. From there you can pick your region, type of accommodation and the month you'll be arriving.

August is a pretty busy month in PEI, if you have trouble finding accommodations in the Central region you can expand your search to Points East Coastal Drive or North Cape Coastal Drive. The island is relatively small, and if you don't mind a bit of driving, I think you'll find that any area will be perfect for your little vacation!

See you soon!
