Hello Hoping someone can tell what is happening in May 2025. Just trying to plan our trip. Where and what must see and must do are. Thank you
Hello Kerri,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
May is a great time to experience the tranquil beauty of the spring season on Prince Edward Island. The fishing harbors are bustling with activity with the opening and start of spring lobster season while farmers are busy preparing and planting their crops on the Island's red soil. As the leaves begin to come out and the grass turns green, it is a wonderful time to take a drive on the scenic coastal drives, walk on boardwalks, trails or along the beaches to experience this picturesque beauty.
Charlottetown is the historic capital city home to Province House and Beaconsfield Heritage House. Summerside is a vibrant little city with many interesting heritage and cultural sites including Wyatt Heritage Properties and Eptek Art and Culture Centre. As you visit the many small towns and communities, you will enjoy bakeries and cafes, ice cream dairy bars, lighthouses, lobster suppers and local live entertainment along with Island hospitality. A vacation in late May will create memories with visits to Green Gables Heritage Place, Anne of Green Gables Museum and the Lucy Maud Montgomery Birthplace. A trip to Prince Edward Island would not be complete without a visit to the Canadian Potato Museum in O'Leary or a visit to the thriving artisan community of Georgetown.
A great tool in planning a trip is viewing the Tourism PEI website for further details, ideas and information.
Prince Edward Island awaits your visit in May 2025!
Best regards,
Kevin Barbour
