Hello Kelli,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province known as the Birthplace of Confederation. We are home to three scenic coastal drives that captures the essence and beauty of the Island. Each one offers a picturesque landscape or seascape along with an unique experience.
In addition, summers are alive and vibrant so there will be lots to see and do in August. The possibilities are endless with beaches to explore, festivals to see, lighthouses to visit, ceilidhs and kitchen parties to attend, trails to bike or hike, as well as delicious lobster suppers, seafood meals or fine dining to enjoy on Canada's Food Island.
There's a wide variety of excellent accommodations to choose from across the Island. Briarwood Coastal Cottages, Cavendish Maple Cottages or Ocean Acres Cottages are just a few of the many places to stay while you are here. No matter where you stay, you will have the opportunity to see what the Island has to offer and to explore the various regions of the province with day trips.
The Tourism PEI website is a terrific resource to plan a vacation to Prince Edward Island with lots of trip ideas and options on where to stay and what to do.
We are looking forward to your first Island visit!
Regards,
Kevin Barbour
