How long it takes for a costal drive of North Cape (Summerside and back), and some special attractions on the way?
Hello Vaqar,
Thank you for your question to Ask An Islander.
North Cape Coastal Drive is 350 km, about a five-hour drive, without stopping. Having said that, you will want to stop along the way - the dramatic red cliffs are so photo worthy! Lighthouses, harbours, windmill farms, museums and charming small communities.
As for dining in North Cape Coastal drive, I would recommend Our Family Traditions in Tignish. They are known for their meat pies and at home-like atmosphere. If you are looking for a sweet to nibble, visit M.J.'s Bakery and Caboose Cafe. In Tyne Valley, check out Tyne Valley Teas.
Points of interest include Lennox Island, Green Park Shipbuilding Museum, lighthouses, Stompin Tom Centre, Acadian museum and the Canadian Potato Museum.
Enjoy your drive.
