Hello Jean,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.

Orwell Corner Historic Village is one of my favourite places to visit. It is like stepping back in time into the mood and charm of a small village of the 1890s.

You could easily spend three hours visiting this charming historic village and even longer if you take part in one of the many daily programs offered in July and August such as candle and ice cream making.

In the spring, May and June you have the opportunity to book an experience where you will get an opportunity to have an up-close experience with the village’s new spring arrivals including goats, lambs, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and cattle. Call ahead to book at 902 651 8515.

Have fun!

Valerie

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
