Hi there, I am doing a solo trip to PEI June 6-9, staying in downtown Charlottetown. I am interested in lighthouses and golf but I do not have access to a car. Are there any lighthouse tours? Are there any golf courses near Charlottetown? Thank you!

Hello Casey,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

Belvedere Golf Club, par 72, 18 hole course is situated within the city limits of Charlottetown. Other golf courses near Charlottetown are found in Clyde River, Stanhope, and Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford.  For further details on these and other fine golf courses, visit the PEI Golf website.

There are several options for getting around during your stay, including T3 Transit. If you are comfortable with exploring by e-bike, I would suggest a day trip to St. Peter's. Book your bike in advance with Confederation Trail Bike Rentals. You should also book your Rural Transit a day or two in advance. Leave from one of several Charlottetown locations at about noon and get off the bus at St. Peter's Landing. Upon your arrival, visit the St. Peters Visitor Information Centre for directions. By bike, you can follow the Confederation Trail back to Saint Peters Harbour to see the beautiful lighthouse there. The bus will return to Chalrottetown about 4:00 pm from one of three St. Peter's locations.

Alternatively, see a lighthouse with a tour offered by Prince Edward Tours. You can also find a complete listing of tours on the Tourism PEI website.

We look forward to your visit and stay in Charlottetown!

Regards,

Kevin
