What are your "can't miss" activities and/or places on PEI, for people who love outdoor activities?

Good morning;

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander about outdoor activities. To start, I recommend a deep-sea fishing trip with one of the many fishermen who provide daily sailings from New London, North Rustico and North Lake. So much fun and you even get to keep some of the catch!

Also, PEI has many hiking & walking trails in and around our beautiful PEI National Park. At Greenwich, enjoy the beautiful trail and white sand beach, located just beyond St. Peters where you will find restaurants and shops. This is a beautiful community overlooking the bay. You can also rent bikes and cycle the Confederation Trail for more scenery and wildlife.

Kayaking is also a great way to see our shores. Lots of great outfitters with easy places to launch and beautiful views of the red stone cliffs and green fields.

On the north shore in Cavendish, you'll find many activities for families, including water parks, attractions and campgrounds. Regardless of where you're staying when visiting, there is always a trail nearby and great places to eat fresh seafood.

When on Prince Edward Island, you can't miss visiting Green Gables Heritage Place and seeing a musical. This year, Anne & Gilbert, the Musical is on stage in Charlottetown. As admission is free to all Parks Canada sites this year, it is best to visit early or late in the day.

Make sure to take your camera. You'll want to capture the many breathtaking views. Have a great time and thank you for choosing to visit Prince Edward Island.
