I am heading to PEI Sept 30 to Oct 5 with my 85 yr old mother. Are there any ceilidhs happening? She is Irish and it is all about the entertainment.

Hey there,

Thank you for your inquiry to Ask an Islander about your fall vacation to Prince Edward Island. Late September is a great time to visit the Island. The fall colours should be out and it is easier to get around as the busy summer season winds down.

The shoulder season is quieter for events, but there are a couple of ceilidhs you can check out in Charlottetown.

  • On September 30 at 7:30 at the Benevolent Irish Society's Irish Hall, you can see Nomad with Tom Gammons, Tre Sutherland and Joey Esker. Find details and ticket information online.
  • On October 4 at 7:30 at the Guild, see Stephanie, Johnny, and Danielle perform at the Ross Family Ceilidh. These siblings put on a great show! Find tickets and information online.
  • On October 5 at Jack Blanchard Hall, take in the Ceilidh in the City for a special Thanksgiving Gospel ceilidh with Jacinta MacDonald and Ed & Linda Doiron. Find information online

Lastly, here is a full list of what's happening across the Island during your stay. Hope you and your mother have a great visit to Prince Edward Island.

Enjoy the shows!

Rod
