I will be traveling the first week in October. What should I make sure to pack?

Hi Leigh,

Thank you for contacting Ask An Islander.

October is a beautiful month that is clear and bright, with temperatures ranging from 8 to 22 degrees C (46-71 F). While the mornings are often cooler the day improves with lovely and warm afternoons. It is especially magical in the fall to see the magnificent tapestry of our changing leaves; especially when they offer a canopy to cover some of our red dirt heritage roads.

When it comes to packing for this time of year, I would suggest warmer clothes for layering, comfortable shoes for walking to explore the fall scenery, and perhaps a light jacket for the cooler nights.

Have a great day,

Jonah
