If the tide is out along the south shore of pei where would I have to go to find the tide in?
Hello Michael,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Traditionally, locals will tell you, if the south shore has the tide out, you can go to the north shore to have the tide in. This is sort of true, the tides will be opposite of each other, but it doesn't mean that the other side of the island has reached it's highest or lowest tide. It is all very dependent on the gravity pull of the sun and moon.
The best way to check the tides is with a reliable source for the tide charts.
I hope this helps,
Erin Davis
