Hi Richard,

Thank you for contacting Ask An Islander.

Here are three suggestions of restaurants that offer gluten free lobster rolls:

Sea Rocket Oyster House: Located inside a historic downtown Charlottetown building, here you can enjoy a gluten free lobster roll that includes brown butter aioli with lemon and fresh herbs. Furthermore, they offer many other gluten free sides and meal options to enjoy alongside your lobster roll!

Lobster on The Wharf and MacKinnon's Lobster Pound: "Charlottetown's premier seafood restaurant", Lobster on the Wharf has earned this honourable title since its opening in 1986. Enjoy the freshest of Island seafood as you watch the boats come and go from their wharf decks or enjoy the indoor air-conditioned comfort. Enjoy a gluten free lobster roll where the lobster is mixed with creamy mayo, crisp celery, and lemon pepper seasoning. Also, while there be sure to sample one of their many gluten free appetizers!

Peake’s Quay Restaurant & Bar: Enjoy your meal on Charlottetown’s largest outdoor patio overlooking the historic Charlottetown waterfront. Their gluten free lobster roll is served with citrus mayo, celery, and a Caesar salad. In addition, many of their shareables are also gluten free. This is a great way to dine with a wonderful view. They regularly have live music on the waterfront here as well: Sounds of the Waterfront - Peake's Quay.

Two additonal options to dine and listen to music are:

Founders’ Food Hall & Market: This is the best blend of urban and rural, bringing together PEI’s most savoury flavours all under one roof. While sampling some of our best local cuisine you can experience the regular live music performances that happen here as well. Sounds of the Waterfront - Founders':  featuring everything from lively fiddling folk and bright Cuban guitar to the smooth tones of wind instruments—plus a rich mix of genres in between!

Victoria Row: Victoria Row, a downtown Charlottetown street mall, is located on Richmond Street between Queen and Great George Streets. The architecture surrounding the cobblestone street dates back to the Victorian era, and is closed to vehicle traffic during the summer months. Here you can dine on an outdoor patio while listening to the Always On Stage live music that occurs every afternoon and evening in the summer!

Have a great day,

Jonah
