LOOKING FOR BOONDOCKING SPOTS IN YOUR PROVINCE. ARE THEY EASY TO FIND. I AM TRAVELLING WITH A DOG. CAN A RV’ER FIND PLACES TO STAY OVER NIGHT EASILY? IT IS MY LIFE DREAM TO TRAVEL ACROSS OUR COUNTRY. COMING FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND BC

Answer by:

Hello Kim,

Thank you for your question to Ask An Islander.

If you are a member of a boondocking group, they would have a list of available spots.

We do not promote boondocking or wild camping as there are so many amazing campgrounds around the island to enjoy. With the dry summer that so many places in Canada have been facing, the damage from last year's Hurricane Fiona and the high risk of fires, we encourage you to look at the parks.

Enjoy your travels across our wonderful country!
