I love body surf, are there beaches in PEI where there are waves regularly and where we can enjoy body surf? If there are, what beaches do you recommend (august,)Thank youDiane

Hi Diane,
Thank you for reaching out! PEI isn't really known for surfing other than kite surfing.
I'm not sure what kind of waves you would need for body surfing, but generally when there are big waves it really isn't safe for swimming.
Our north shore beaches are generally the more wavy or rough water beaches. Please make sure that you check surf conditions before ever heading into the water.
We have very strong rip currents. Powerful, fast-moving currents that can pull you away from shore very quickly.
When in doubt, don't go out.
Maybe if body surfing isn't possible, you'd enjoy a kite surfing lesson with Island Kiteboarding Academy! Paddle boarding is another popular activity in PEI.
Have fun and be safe.
