Best places to swim?

Answer by:

Hi Erica,

My daughter and I try to visit a different beach every weekend, so we're turning in to unofficial beach experts! Our favourites are:

•       Basin Head Provincial Park: It’s consistently rated at PEI’s best beach by locals and visitors alike. Think: FUN!

•       Panmure Island Provincial Park: We love this beach because it’s easily accessible (from the parking lot, it’s just a short climb by the dunes).

Since both beaches listed above are provincial parks, they have lifeguards, public washrooms and canteen service; they are also free of charge (dogs on leashes are also permitted).

•       Blooming Point Beach: Locals love this beach; it’s near and dear to my heart, as I used to live in the area and I have so many happy memories here. It’s just outside the boundaries of the PEI National Park, so it’s not serviced (ie: there are no lifeguards on duty; do be careful of rip currents).

•       The beach near Tracadie Harbour: If you go, plan to enjoy a meal at Fin Take Away (there are also public bathrooms onsite).

I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have more questions.

Enjoy!
