Hello Tara,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. October is a beautiful time to visit Prince Edward Island. Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival is happening from September 25th - October 11th. It is a three-week celebration of the best local food and drink on Canada’s Food Island. Every fall, our communities come together to showcase fresh, local ingredients and delicious creations. Events are happening from tip to tip.

There are still live music events happening in October. Ceilidh in the City on October 1st for one. This Prince Edward Island concert series celebrates its 15th season this year. Enjoy music by the host band and weekly special guests!

You could tour our historical capital city of Charlottetown. In true October style, the Ghost Tours, led by a mysterious gravedigger would be a great way to discover the city. This spooky stroll is full of tales about Charlottetown’s historic downtown and its dark, mysterious, sometimes haunted past.

On that same theme, experience Beaconsfield as the sun goes down and the shadows grow long. Join the resident ghostlorist for an intimate visit to the house, focusing on the more macabre side of Victorian life (and death). Hear local ghost stories, meet their most haunted artifact, Wheelie, and enjoy haunting ballads at Beaconsfield Historic House, Beaconsfield by Candlelight

Visit the Confederation Centre of the Arts. "Inside Island History" is on at Confederation Centre Studio while you're here. Soak in the fascinating stories of Prince Edward Island’s past at this engaging cabaret-style presentation.

Spend a day at Mysa Nordic Spa! Renew, relax, recharge. A place to heal, rejuvenate, and refresh. Discover the art of self-care at Mysa Spa, where unwinding is a necessity, not just a luxury.

October is a wonderful time to explore the Coastal Drives, or a scenic heritage road, or all of them! The weather will probably still be nice enough to stroll one or many of our stunning beaches. With over 1100 km of coastline, no matter where you are in PEI, you're never far from a beautiful beach. You may even have it all to yourself!

I hope this gives you some ideas for your visit in October. We'll see you soon.

Valerie
