When is the best time to celebrate the feast of lobster 🦞 and the rest of the wonderful life of PEI?

Thank you for reaching out on Ask An Islander- the short answer is whatever time you can make it to the island is the best time for all of that! Lobster can be enjoyed year round here on PEI so no worries there.

To be a bit more specific, I always encourage friends to travel here during lobster fishing seasons (there’s one in the Spring, typically running from early May until late June and one in the Fall - typically mid August to mid October). One of my favorite traditions on PEI is Setting Day the first day of lobster fishing season in the Spring. Families and well wishers line the wharves and beaches around the island as the boats loaded with traps head out in the early morning. It’s an experience!
