Where are the most scenic views of the ocean

Hello Bill,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. We like to say that no matter where you are in Prince Edward Island, you're never more than a 15-minute drive to the water, and with over 1100 km of coastline finding a nice view of the water isn't too hard.
The first spot that comes to mind is the Prince Edward Island National Park. Gorgeous white sand beaches in contrast with the red cliffs and the rougher north side waters are picture perfect. Sunsets are spectacular too!
Another amazing view can be had from East Point. This is the easternmost tip of the island and there you can witness where the tides meet. The tides from the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of St. Lawrence with some help from the Atlantic Ocean converge here and it is a sight to behold. For an even better view, climb to the top of the East Point Lighthouse.
This same phenomenon happens at North Cape as well, there you will also find the longest natural rock reef in North America. It stretches 2 km offshore and a lighthouse was built to warn sailors of this hazard and was the site of many early shipwrecks.
One of my favourite seaside places is Naufrage Harbour on the Points East Coastal Drive. It's a rustic working fishing harbour, and if you happen to be here during the fishing season you'll get to see the boats coming and going as well. Long stretches of beach, red cliffs, Shipwreck Point Lighthouse and a one-lane Bailey bridge that takes you from one side of the harbour to the other.
I hope this helps you find a favourite!
