Where is the best restaurant in Stratford the sells fresh lobster? And fun things to do while exploring Stratford?
Hello Emily,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Phinley's Diner, located in Stratford, serves a lobster roll and some other fresh seafood items. If you head into Charlottetown, there are more options available. Lobster on The Wharf and MacKinnon's Lobster Pound and Water Prince Corner Shop are two favourites.
While exploring Stratford, be sure to check out Tea Hill Park. This is a 15-acre property with public beach access on the Keppoch Road with a southern view overlooking the Northumberland Strait. Tea Hill Beach is known for wide open expanses of beach at low tide, with lots of shallow pools for children to play in. While the origin of the name is conflicting, the history of Tea Hill Park is connected to the first Canadian Transatlantic flight that took off from the site.
There is also the Red Rock Climbing Wall and trampoline park in Stratford.
Not too far from Stratford, along the Points East Coastal Drive you'll find Orwell Corner Historic Village. It is a wonderful place to take a step back in time! If you've gone that far, you can explore a little further to check out Point Prim Lighthouse. It is Prince Edward Island's oldest lighthouse, built in 1845. You can climb 60 feet above sea level for a magnificent view of the Northumberland Strait and Hillsborough Bay!
I hope this helps you to plan your stay in Stratford.
