Maria Muise

Were you born in PEI or are you an Islander by choice?
Yes I was born and raised here. I go off Island for University now throughout the winter but I always come back for the summer!

Describe what an average day looks like for you?
An average summer day for me would be heading into my job at the West Prince Visitors Information Center. When I get to work I never know what my day might have in store for me. But the only thing that I can be sure of, is meeting some great people from all over the world! On my days off you can typically find me laying on the beach, out the boat with my family, or going to the drive inn with my friends!

What is your favourite thing about life in PEI?
My favorite part PEI is the laid back lifestyle we have here. Before I moved away for school I didn’t realize how peaceful and relaxed we have it here on the Island.

What is something people wouldn't know if they're not from the island?
Many people who are not from PEI may not know that we are home to North Americas Largest Rock Reef located at the most North Western Tip, North Cape.

What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about?
I absolutely love water sports like water skiing, tubing, surfing, sailing, boating, jet skiing and basically anything on the water. I’m not always good at these sports but I always have a blast doing them!

If you had to choose one spot on the island to take someone who has never been here, where would it be?
I would take them to the Sand Hills. It is a beautiful and secluded beach that goes on for miles. There is also a sandbar there that is perfect for fishing bar clams (one of my favorite summer treats)!
