Where do you live in PEI?
West Royalty in Charlottetown
Were you born in PEI or are you an Islander by choice?
I was born on the Island … and am still an Islander BY CHOICE!!!
What is an average day for you?
I meet with my clients on a daily basis, trying to pick the best marketing mix/ideas to help grow their business and to meet new customers. I get to travel all over PEI, meeting business owners across the Island.
What is your favourite thing about life in PEI?
Two things … first the PEOPLE … Islanders are the best … and secondly, the way of life … I love that things go just a little bit slower here on PEI. No one is in a rat race, there is no traffic and people are generally in a great mood all the time. I also love that when you go to a store, you either know the cashier … or you will know someone else in the store.
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about?
I really do LOVE PEI … I love finding new hidden gems (because it is a bigger Island then we give it credit for) … I love learning about things that people are doing on PEI that I had no idea about. With small children, my wife and I enjoy taking the kids places to that they will grow up loving PEI as much as we do.
If you had to choose one spot on the island to take someone who has never been here, where would it be?
This is the hardest question to answer … because there is so much to do on PEI … and so many different things for different lifestyles. I guess if someone was here for 1 day only … I would take them to Basin Head … see the beautiful beach and maybe take a jump into the Run … and then go and grab some seafood somewhere.
What is something people wouldn't know if they're not from the island?
I don’t know how true this is now … but when we grew up, we always told people visiting that PEI has the most rinks per capita in the world, and the most golf courses.
Any funny facts about yourself or factoids about the Island that you think people should know?
I was homeschooled … even some of my friends don’t know that. I am the one person on PEI who is not the biggest fan of Lobster … and my dad was a lobster fisherman … and my family loves it, but me not so much!!! But I LOVE Smoked Mackerel!!
PEI lays claim to landing the biggest Great White Shark in history!! But not to worry … you can still enjoy the Island beaches without having a worry about seeing one on the sand bars!
