Prince Edward Island is beautiful at any time of year. December on our Island will look much different than our summer months, but there is still plenty to see and do.
The capital city of Charlottetown is always a good option during the winter months. The famous Cows Creamery will be open and you can take a free self-guided tour of the creamery and enjoy the delectable ice cream made right there on site. You can also tour Beaconsfield Historic House. This historic home stands as a fine example of Victorian architecture with many wonderful features intact and has a fascinating story to tell. If touring a brewery is something of interest to you, PEI Brewing Company offers factory tours that are not only entertaining but also very interesting. You will also find a few ceilidhs happening around the Island and live music in many of the pubs. This far in advance I don't have a complete list of events, but as we get closer to the dates please check out the Festival and Events page on Tourism PEI's website.
If we are lucky enough to have some snow by then, a horse and sleigh ride is always a lot of fun. Potts Sleigh Rides in Bonshaw is a popular one. They even include warm blankets and hot chocolate to keep everyone cozy and warm!
The weather does play a major role in the types of activities that are happening in December, but check out website or give us a call (1-800-463-4734) closer to the dates and we'll have a much clearer idea of what will be happening!
