We are staying in Summerside and we want to hear some island music on Wednesday 9th of August - can you give us some tips?

Hey there, Anne!

Summerside is a great place to stay in the summer months - lots of options for music as well!

My first recommendation would be to check out Searching for Abegweit - The Island Songs and Stories of Lennie Gallant. World-reknowned Island songwriter Lennie Gallant has an incredible show with an incredible band at the Harbourfront Theatre. Great Island tunes and great stories to go along with them. You can get tickets for that HERE

A short drive away you could find the Stanley Bridge Ceilidh. This one goes from 7pm-9pm and is one of the more popular ceilidhs on the Island! You can find that one at the Stanley Bridge Hall, 4897 St Mary's Rd, Breadalbane.

Another short drive away (even closer than Stanley Bridge) would be the Malpeque Ceilidh at the Malpeque Women’s Institute. This is located in Kensington at 3 Malpeque Road. Starts at 730 pm and has some incredible players in it.

Those would be your best options!

While you’re in Summerside, make sure to check out Open Eats Restaurant as well!

Thanks,
