Best autism friendly places in Charlottown? Places that are sensory friendly, not over populated and not a whole lot of stair cases.

Good afternoon Tanya;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. To assist in answering your question, I spoke with a person living with Autism at Autistic PEI. She suggested the following attractions may be of interest:
- Confederation Centre Art Gallery
- Guided tour of Government House and gardens
- The Story of Confederation exhibit with guided interpretation, informative panels and original artifacts from Province House
- Beaconsfield Historic House is quiet with dim lighting and is typically not crowded. A second floor does require stairs but first floor alone is interesting.
- All Aboard Cafe on a rainy afternoon is a quiet space for a game and a snack.
Events & Tours
The Confederation Centre of the Arts is presenting two relaxed performances of Anne of Green Gables—The Musical™ this summer on Monday, July 8 and Monday, August 19 and one for Jersy Boys on August 29 as part of the Charlottetown Festival.
It was also suggested that perhaps an outdoor tour might be of interest. Here are a few to consider
Of course, like in other cities, Cineplex also offers sensory-friendly screenings. Please check online for your dates of travel to see if a screening of interest is scheduled.
I hope this information is helpful.
Have a great vacation!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
