Hi Akarsh,

Thank you for contacting Ask An Islander.

First, I would reccommend touring Points East Coastal Drive  where you can visit six of our eight lighthouses. Most are located on beautiful coastal properties that would make for an excellent photo. Here are some other suggestions of interesting places to visit:

Next, Points East Coastal Drive boasts 50 Phenomenal Beaches; from red sand to white and both in Panmure Island, you can find scenic places for photography.

One last unique suggestion would be Buffaloland Park where you can discover a herd of grazing buffalo. Viewing in early morning or late evening is best. Contact information: [email protected] or by phone at 902-652-8950.

Next, I would recommend visiting any of our historic red dirt roads. While driving on these iron rich dirt roads, you will discover a canopy of trees overhanging in some locations. In the fall of the year, a kaleidoscope of colours makes this a site that will be a lasting memory.

The North Cape Coastal Drive offers 350 km of some of the most breathtaking vistas you’ve ever seen! Cruise through seaside fishing villages, and learn about Acadian and Mi’kmaq cultures. Here are some other suggestions of places to visit in North Cape Coastal Drive:

Here you will find West Point Lighthouse Museum, the only black and white lighthouse on PEI!

Bottle Houses – Gardens and Glass Expressions: Life-size buildings made of 25,000 recycled glass bottles creating colourful symphony of light. 13-foot giant bottle, impressive display of flowers creating ever-changing peaceful setting, bottle art sculptures, garden interpretive centre in replica of Cape-Egmont lighthouse.

Canadian Potato Museum & Antique Farm Machinery Museum: The Canadian Potato Museum showcases the history of potatoes through its historical interpretative centre and large collection of antique farming equipment. Make sure to take a photo in front of the largest potato in the world!

Downtown Charlottetown offers incredible historic artichitecture that tells the tales of bygone days. From prohibition times to duels in the streets the rich history of the area is an incredible backdrop for any photoshoot! To find out more please visit the Charlottetown page on our Tourism Prince Edward Island website.

Lastly, as you travel along the rural parts of Route 2, you will get to see freshly farmed fields, lookouts for incredible water views and sunset photos, and roadside vegetable stands!

Enjoy photographing the incredible scenery our Island has to offer!

Have a great day,

Jonah
