Hello Ashley,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

Brudenell is a nice, picturesque community situated along the Brudenell and Montague Rivers in the heart of eastern PEI.  There you will experience the incredible beauty of Brudenell River Provincial Park and the appealing family environment of the Rodd Brudenell River Resort. Horseback riding is available there. Brudenell's origin can be traced to the 18th century trading post now called Roma at Three Rivers Historic Site. Also, a visit to the local petting farm, Brudenell Miniatures Barnyard Zoo will be an adventure of shared moments spent creating memories for a lifetime.

Montague, Cardigan and Georgetown, the hidden gem of the area, are all located nearby. Georgetown is a beautiful, historic town. The extraordinary friendliness of its people are found at cafes, artisans' shops or along the street. You can even learn to make a homemade treasure to take home at Shoreline Design PEI

The Points East Coastal Drive is home to 50 beaches including The Singing Sands at Basin Head Provincial Park.  A fun experience for the children would be the PEI miniature railway found at the nearby Elmira Railway Museum. A popular children's destination of the region is Kings Castle Provincial Park in the Murray River area. Another point of interest is the Panmure Island Provincial Park where you can see both the white and red sand  of the Island. Along the way, you can visit historic lighthouses, and enjoy delicious treats at small town bakeries and dairy bars.

Regards,

Kevin Barbour
