Best safest Sandy bottom beaches for young teens

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Most of our beaches have sandy bottoms. You will find the occasional rock here and there, but mostly sand. Young teens enjoy Basin Head Beach, it was voted the #1 beach in Canada by vacay.ca.  Basin Head is located in the Points East Coastal Drive region that boasts its 50 Phenomenal Beaches. The beaches of the Prince Edward Island National Park are amazing as well! 

With over 3000 km of coastline, we like to say that no matter where you are on PEI you're never more than a 15-minute drive from a beach. If you are worried about safety you can visit the beaches that are supervised.
