Hi I am planning on visiting PEI during the month of November is there any suggestions for places to visit and activities not to be missed?
Hello Vincent,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
It is never the end of season on Prince Edward Island and there are so many events happening!
In November, the Charlottetown Christmas Festival is continuing in downtown Charlottetown. It is the most amazing time of the year in Atlantic Canada. While you are enjoying Charlottetown, don't miss out of joining the Atlantic Slam Women's Basketball. This NCAA Division 1 women's college basketball will be a great event to attend.
Maybe one of the amazing Christmas Markets filled with something for everyone on your shopping list. Local artisans and bakers have lots to pick from! The Christmas Fairs and Holiday Markets are sure to lift your spirits.
Looking for some music? We have a lot of ceilidh's, concerts and special events happening. Check out our Festival and Events section.
Food, we have you taken care of! With over 300 amazing food spots, we will keep you happily fed. Our culinary adventure is strong.
There are still a few Antique and Art Galleries open for your enjoyment. Wander around some of our Craft & Gift Shops.
Although the fall colours of our Public Gardens are quickly fading, still a few offering a lovely display.
Don't forget we have 63 Lighthouses on Prince Edward Island.
Many of our Museums & Historical Sites will be operating on reduced hours, but a drive along the amazing Scenic Heritage Roads is always wonderful. The Hungarian Partridge, Pheasants and Grouse are lovely to see this time of year.
Prince Edward Island has three Coastal Drives, North Cape Coastal Drive, Central Coastal Drive and Points East Coastal Drive. While driving around join the Hot Chocolate Trail. Need something stronger to warm you up? Enjoy the PEI Spirit Festival.
North Cape Coastal Drive is 350 km, about a five-hour drive, without stopping. You will want to stop, the tall red dramatic cliffs are photo worthy! Lighthouses, harbours, the windmill farms and charming small communities.
Central Coastal Drive is 253 km, a solid four-hour drive. This is a great drive featuring the Green Gables Shore and Red Sand Shore. Visit the artisan village of Victoria by the Sea. Travel to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Co. and walk the grounds, they have amazing public gardens. Walk the boardwalk in North Rustico and stop into Pedro's for an amazing meal. The drive through the National Park is beautiful. If you love to walk or bike, jump on the Confederation Trail.
Points East Coastal Drive is 475 km and we tend to advise visitors, this is a seven to eight-hour drive, so consider two days. Boasting over 50 beaches, this is a sea glass haven for those who love beach combing. Lovely small harbour communities, farms, unique nooks and crannies and even a cow or two!
So, there are a few things still left to do!
Have fun!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
