I am a Canadian artist that paints lighthouses, sunrises and sunsets, which is the best place you get inspired by the natures beauty, and best beaches to walk on
Good morning;
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. We also very much enjoy nature’s beauty. Prince Edward Island offers so much if you are seeking to be inspired.
One of our favourite lighthouses is the St Peters Harbour Lighthouse - see my photo below. It is not a well-known beach and will give you the peace you may be looking for compared to many other lighthouse locations. Honestly, you could travel all across the Island and find so many unique lighthouses; they are not hard to find on our beautiful shores.
I recommend going to nearby Lakeside Beach and walking west to Savage Harbour for a long, isolated beach walk. It’s 6.5 km return and is a favourite. The North side beaches offer the best sunrises and sunsets. These are quiet places for you to concentrate without lots of people around. The Gulfshore Parkway from Rustico to Cavendish has some amazing views for sunsets, with cliffs and beaches.
Greenwich National Park is also a very unique beach with a walk through the woods and a floating boardwalk over the marsh and onto a beautiful section of PEI beach. Honestly, there are so many views in this section and lots of nature through the woods and on the marsh.
We hope you get to enjoy all the beauty that PEI offers on your trip and can capture this through your paintings. Enjoy!
