I will be visiting PEI in the summer of 2025, what areas would you recommend for a group of golfers, hikers and serious foodies (also beach lovers). We would like to eat as much fresh seafood as possible
Hello Floyd
Thank you for the question to Ask An Islander
The cavendish area would be a great place to start with it's 4 golf courses. Green Gables, Anderson's Creek, Eagles Glenn and Glasgow Hills. There are some neat packages available like Cavendish Beach Trail Card where you can stay 2 nights at Fairways Cottages as well as play all 4 Cavendish courses. Hiking and spending some time on the beach is certainly easy on PEI, you are never far away from a trail or a beach. Cavendish Beach is part of the National Park and is a really nice beach. There are washrooms, change areas and lifeguards during the summer. There are connections for the PEI National Park Trail System as well which is beautiful for hiking.
Great seafood options ,of course, are our world famous lobster suppers. Fisherman's wharf located in Rustico is a must have, they have wonderful lobster and some of the best scallops I have ever had and a 60 foot salad bar to go with it. Also New Glasgow lobster suppers located in New Glasgow have amazing food including seafood and their famous mile high lemon meringue pie! Where ever you decide to visit on PEI you are guaranteed to have wonderful seafood.
I hope you get to enjoy swinging the clubs, relaxing on the beach and eating great food visiting PEI this summer!
