HelloWhere can we find the best donair on the island?

Answer by:

Hello Daniel,

I am pretty fussy about my donair and where I get them, so here are my favourite spots.

Dino's in Charlottetown. A delicious donair, great price, packed full of meat and the donair sauce is served in a dish on the side.

Coach's Restaurant & Sports Bar in Charlottetown, the 1/2 lb. donair is amazing and the inhouse made donair sauce isn't too sweet, I swear, you will struggle trying to finish your fries with this one.

Pizza & Donair Hub in Charlottetown have great donairs, I find their donair sauce on the thin side.

In Summerside Beamer's 1A Pizza is a local legend. Very popular. Also, check out Brothers Two Restaurant.

Dillon's Convenience & Pizzeria in Tyne Valley is one of my stops when I am in the area. I love that they will put lettuce on top of the donair. The first time they served me a donair with lettuce, I thought they were breaking every donair rule known to a foodie, but I liked it.

Vinny's in O'leary. I have not had their donairs, but that is because they are always sold out! So, get there early.

Ol' Boys Eatery is a food truck, not a donair, but their donair goons are worth the try!

Also, look for donair egg rolls, donair poutine and donair pizzas! Many restaurants and food trucks have unique versions on the famous donair.

I guess after this, I am going to need a donair for supper!
