Hi D,

Thank you for contacting Ask An Islander.

The first thing you may want to explore in October is the exciting Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival that takes place from September 25 - October 11, 2025. This is a two-week celebration of the fall harvest on Canada's Food Island. Sample and celebrate PEI lobster, oysters, mussels, beef, potatoes and more at this premier culinary festival. Experience some of PEI's exceptional cuisine accompanied by equally impressive musical performances!

Fin Folk Food is a casual restaurant and patio serving comfort food and take-away seafood classics. The restaurant features a beachside patio, outdoor showers for beachgoers, and a second-floor wrap-around outdoor patio with spectacular views. Upstairs at Fin Folk Food, the Jimmy & Brenton Stage and Bar offers guests and locals a taste of live music and fine local beverages. This restaurant is frequented by both visitors and locals alike.

Blue Mussel Café offers fresh seafood and other local fare served on a deck overlooking the North Rustico Harbour. This restaurant is located directly on the water so you can experience the most beautiful views while you dine. They are open through the middle of October.

Red Shores Charlottetown: Experience culinary delights at the Top of the Park or in Turf’s Lounge at this cultural landmark. Many locals will dine here on special occasions as Top of the Park offers different themed buffets on a rotation. After finishing your meal, you can experience live harness racing or the on site casino! While this is located just outside of the Green Gable Shore region, it is definitely worth the drive!

Lastly two of our famous lobster suppers are always a great idea for a dining experience.

Fisherman's Wharf Lobster Suppers & Pier 15 Restaurant offers a unique PEI traditional lobster supper experience with the Island’s longest salad bar. This salad bar will allow everyone to leave happy as they get to choose all their favourite foods! With homemade strawberry shortcake and an incredible water view of the North Rustico Harbour, this is truly an authentic PEI dining experience.

New Glasgow Lobster Suppers is the original PEI lobster suppers started in 1958. They offer up only the freshest of foods: from their lobster to their potatoes. For dessert you can enjoy their famous "mile high" lemon meringue pie! This will be another highlight of your trip as your family experiences lobster the way it is meant to be served, fresh and delicious!
