We are staying in Charlottetown. My pre-teen loves beaches with waves large enough to boogie board or body surf. Any suggestions where we could find reliable waves? He is a strong swimmer.

Good afternoon from Prince Edward Island,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Your pre-teen will enjoy a windy day on the north shore. I would suggest Cavendish, Rustico or Brackley in the PEI National Park. Surf guards are in place at some locations for everyone's safety

The Rustico Surf Club website offers some forecasting tools that may be helpful. Find their shop at the Seawalk Park, 24 Harbourview Drive, North Rustico.
