Hello Audrey,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. I am happy to hear that you're coming to visit. Arriving via the Confederation Bridge and leaving by ferry and only a few days to tour, I would suggest touring the Central Coastal Drive and parts of the Points East Coastal Drive and maybe spending a day in our capital city Charlottetown.
The Central Coastal Drive encompasses so much! You have the Red Sands Shore and the Green Gables Shore to explore. Red Sands Shore has beautiful Victoria by the Sea. A seaside village full of amazing artisans, cozy restaurants, a theatre, outdoor adventure, breathtaking scenery and so much more. While driving along the coast, take the time to stop by Canoe Cove Beach. At low tide, you can walk forever on the red sand. The park has picnic areas and washrooms and is a lovely place to take a break from driving. You'll need at least a day to see this area.
Green Gables Shore is home to the Prince Edward Island National Park, Green Gables Heritage Place, two world-famous lobster suppers, many charming fishing villages, artisans galore and so much more! You'll want to spend at least a day here too.
Our capital city of Charlottetown is full of history, culture, and fun! The downtown is a vibrant, bustling adventure not to be missed. There is everything from museums to water adventures! Stroll down Victoria Row. Dine in one of the many outdoor patios. Visit the Confederation Centre of the Arts to view the gallery or take in a show. Head down to Founders Food Hall and Market and Peakes Quay for food, shopping, and live music.
By the time you've explored these areas, time may be getting short. You can travel from Charlottetown towards the Wood Islands ferry along the southern portion of the Points East Coastal Drive. This area is known for its 50 phenomenal beaches, historic lighthouses that you can visit and tour. Two of them will be on your drive to the ferry: Point Prim Lighthouse and the Wood Islands Lighthouse. You will also find the Orwell Corner Historic Village, Rossignol Winery, Double Hill Cidery and more!
I hope this helps you to plan your visit!
