We want to take a coastal drive to see lighthouses. Is there such a route? Starting point in cavendish please then ending near Wood Islands.

Leaving Cavendish, I would take PE 6 - W. In North Rustico you can see the North Rustico Lighthouse. At the end of the PE 6, take a left onto Brackley Point Road (15) and travel to the Gulf Shore Parkway East, this is through the National Park. You will be able to see the Covehead Harbour Lighthouse. Continue on the PE 6 and then take Hwy 2 to Charlottetown.

In Charlottetown, travel to Victoria Park. Along the board walk you can see the the Brighton Front and Back Ranges. Across the Charlottetown Harbour, you will see the lights of the Warren Cove Back and Front Ranges and Blockhouse Point Lighthouse.

Continue out of Charlottetown, heading towards the ferry on Hwy-1, towards the ferry. On the right, look for Point Prim Road (209) and visit the Point Prim Lighthouse. You can go in this lighthouse all the way to the top! While up there, watch for whales and sailing ships in the distance. This is the oldest lighthouse on the island and one of two in Canada, which are round and made out of bricks.

Continue back to Hwy-1 and when you arrive at the ferry, detour to see the Wood Islands Front and Back Ranges and go inside the Wood Islands Lighthouse.

This drive will take you a bit more then 2 hours, without stopping. With 63 lighthouses and ranges on the Island, enjoy as many as you can!

 If you have more time, instead of heading to Charlottetown, you could continue on to the All Points East Coastal Drive. You can then add East Point Lighthouse, Souris Lighthouse, Panmure Island Lighthouse and Cape Bear Lighthouse! This would certainly give you more lighthouses to see, but it also would be over 4 hours driving, without stopping.
