Hello Lorrie-Anne,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander!

Rocky Point is located in the Red Sands Shore Region and that is a great place to start. Visit Skmaqn–Port-la-Joye–Fort Amherst National Historic Site. Stroll the trails, take in the view of Charlottetown Harbour which is just across the water. This area was originally established by the French in 1720, Skmaqn–Port-la-Joye–Fort Amherst commemorates the first permanent European settlement on Île Saint-Jean now known as Prince Edward Island.

Just down the dirt road from Skmaqn you will find the Block House Lighthouse. You can't go in this lighthouse but you can view from outside. It's a really pretty lighthouse and the views from there are gorgeous.

Victoria by the Sea is along the Red Sands Shore, and is a great place to spend a few hours. Victoria is a historic fishing village that’s been revitalized by the many artists and creative people who call it home. Find a place to park and stroll the pretty streets.

If you're interested in visiting lighthouses, you could head east to Points East Coastal Drive region which is home to six of the eight lighthouses that you can tour. It is also home to Basin Head Provincial Park, one of PEI's most famous beaches, and this regions also boasts its '50 Phenomenal Beaches'. Here you can also find the Prince Edward Island National Park at Greenwich, East Point Lighthouse where you'll be at the very easternmost tip of the island and where you can see the meeting of the tides and many other quaint little towns and harbours!

One last suggestion; you'll be staying just across the harbour from our capital city of Charlottetown. You can easily spend a day exploring the historic city. Head down to the waterfront and explore the shops, maybe go on a cruise of the harbour on a solar powered boat with Ride Solar and enjoy the Sounds of the Waterfront happening daily at either Founders Food Hall and Market or Peake's Quay. You can do a self-guided tour of the historical downtown. Take a stroll along Victoria Row, enjoy lunch or dinner on a patio and visit Confederation Centre of the Arts.

I hope that helps you plan a few day trips!
