Where is the best place to see forest on the Island?

Hi Susan,

Thank you for reaching out. The Province of Prince Edward Island has designated some special areas as Natural Areas and are protected by the Natural Areas Protection Act. Some of these are forested areas that you can visit. You can find a list of these here

PEI also has many other areas where you can see our beautiful forests. Our Confederation Trail runs from Elmira to Tignish and much of it runs through wooded areas. There are also many other walking trails on the island that highlight our woodlands. Island Trails has an informative website you can visit to find out more! The Dromore Woodland Trail sounds lovely!

Our Heritage Roads are another great way to get a view of the forests of PEI. The New Harmony Road for example has sections where the trees make a beautiful canopy over the red dirt road.

Regards,

Valerie
