Where would you recommend staying for a family with a kids ranging from age four to age 12? Also, what family friendly activities would you recommend?

Hello Patricia,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander.
Green Gables Shore region is great for families, it is in the Central region of PEI and includes the Prince Edward Island National Park and the Cavendish area. Cavendish has a lot of great family-friendly activities like amusement and theme parks, Green Gables Heritage Place, and amazing beaches! It is also easy to explore the rest of the Island from there. You can head east or west and still be back to your accommodation by evening.
Island Hills Farm is a great family activity. Known as the 'Cutest place on Earth' there is something for everyone there. Paddling and water sports are very popular here. You can find rentals in any region of the island.
Lighthouses are fun to find and explore! The Island has eight, easy-to-find lighthouses open as community museums. Yes, the climb to the top may be challenging, but the panoramic views of the land and sea make it worthwhile.
Spend a day at the beach! With over 3000 km of coastline, you're never too far from a gorgeous beach. There are many family fun Festivals and Events that take place over the summer. Visit the Tourism Prince Edward Island website to see what will be happening while you are here.
I hope this helps you to plan your visit.
Take care,
Valerie
