We plan to spend a week inPEI. Where should we stay? Charlottetown or Kensington? We have kids and want to stay in just one place

Hi Terri!

Kensington is a great location for a family to base their vacation out of! Situated in the Green Gables Shore region, Kensington is located within easy access to kayaking, cycling, deep-sea fishing excursions, museums and historic sites, amusement parks and, yes, world famous beaches.

Charlottetown is a vibrant city and is the capital of Prince Edward Island. There are many great things to see, do and taste. It is definitely the cultural hub, a favourite seaside hangout and a must for foodies. The city is refreshingly walkable whether you're seeking amenities, entertainment or just an inspired wander.  It is also a fantastic location to base yourself from!

The biggest consideration would be whether you would prefer a small town or a city.  One of the many advantages of vacationing on an island is that everything is within a short drive of each other.  Either location would place you in the central region of the Island.

I'm sure whichever location you choose, you will have a great time here in Prince Edward Island!
