I want to visit the Anne of Green Gables, which hotel or accommodation is close by while still being close to town with shops and restaurants?

Hello Jeniffer,

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

There are a few great hotels in the Cavendish area. Cavendish Bosom Buddies Cottages & Resort, Anne Shirley Motel & Cottages, Bay Vista Motel and Inn at the Pier.

In the Charlottetown area, a 40 minute drive, there are many hotels to choose from. The Holman Grand Hotel, Sydney Boutique Inn & Suites, Rodd Charlottetown and Hotel on Pownal.

If you are staying in the Cavendish area, there are lots of wonderful restaurant suggestions. Island Chef on the Pier is beside Inn at the Pier and is a wonderful experience. Chez Yvonne is a well known family style restaurant in the area. Island Favourites serves up a great lobster roll, chowder, burgers and more. Just a short distance away, I recommend Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 15 Restaurant. Fisherman's Wharf is a lobster supper, home to an all-you-can-eat 60 ft. salad bar & mussels. Pier 15 has an amazing lobster grilled cheese sandwich, chowder and several other amazing seafood options. Blue Mussel Cafe is a lovely seafood dining experience. There are many more options also.

There is shopping at the Cavendish Boardwalk.

In Charlottetown, there are several wonderful dining experiences. I love going to the restoration restaurants. The buildings are beautiful and add to the dining experience. Victoria Row has music and several restaurants, with outdoor patios, to enjoy.

There are lots of shopping experiences in Charlottetown.

Happy vacation planning,

Erin Davis
