I’m going to be in Stratford between August 3rd and August 24th with my wife and 6 yr old daughter. What should I make sure I plan to do?

Good morning from Prince Edward Island,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. We're happy to offer you some ideas as we have grandkids of a close age to your daughter.  Here are a few ideas:

  • Tea Hill Park is within a few minutes of Stratford. It has amazing sandbars when the tide is out and pools of water between the sandbars. Our grandkids love to go to this beach. Check the tides on line and look for low tide. You can also dig for bar clams from this beach.

  • Stratford Town Hall has a fun splash pad which is free and is open in the summer for a fun place to cool off.
  • Off the Wallz is an indoor trampoline and amusement centre right in Stratford. A great rainy day fun place!

If you are interested in travelling, we would recommend going to the Butterfly House in New Glasgow.  You are in the house with butterflies all around you.  We go every year.

I invite you to download or order our 2024 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too! Enjoy your vacation. Lots to see and do in PEI. You'll make wonderful memories with your little girl.

Regards,

Marney & Wade
