Got good info previously but hoping for more ideas with a more specific question. Looking for centrally located lodging for 2 adults for 4 nights as a home base to take day trips around the island. Inns, smaller hotels or small cottage. Thank you.
Hello Janet,
There are several locations centrally, I will give some options.
Silver Waters Cottage, in North Bedeque with 2 bedrooms. Closer to the western end of the Island and Summerside. In this area you can enjoy the North Cape Coastal Drive. In Summerside you can enjoy visiting the MacNaught History Centre and the Wyatt Properties. Also, walk to the ever popular Holman's Ice Cream Parlour. While traveling the coastal drive, visit the Canadian Potato Museum.
The Good Cottages, Rice Point. Great area for clam digging on the red sand shore. Close to Victoria By the Sea. Only 20 minutes from Charlottetown. Enjoy an evening at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. Just 40 minutes from Cavendish, visit places like Prince Edward Island Preserve Co., North Rustico, Fisherman's Wharf Lobster Supper and Glasgow Glen Farm Artisan Cheese.
Beach Life Haven, Hampton is close to Charlottetown. Enjoy the trails, Confederation Trail, Drive In theatre and take a drive to Cardigan and enjoy a Mussel & Lobster Shore Boil. Are you an artist at heart? Painting, clay making and basket weaving are great skills to learn.
Swept Away Cottages, Cavendish is close to all things Anne. Maybe you would like to learn more about the oysters. Mi'kmaq Song & Dance or learn how to make a drum.
Meadowview Cottages, Cavendish are close to the National Park. Many love participating in chore time on a farm. The beach is a great spot to learn how to make a sandcastle. This is a popular couple project.
North Rustico Motel, Cottages & Inn, North Rustico. Various types of accommodations. Enjoy the boardwalk in North Rustico. Take in some deep-sea fishing, golfing or maybe you would enjoy making a traditional Acadian Meal. If you are a Lobster Lover enjoy a day in the life of a fisherman.
All of these are located in the central part of the Island and would be ideal for day trips around the province. If there is something specific you are looking to do, we certainly would be happy to try and find that activity for you.
Happy vacation planning,
Erin Davis

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
