We're planning on going to Basin Head this weekend but I'm in crutches. How far is the beach from the parking area? Or is there a drop off area near the beach?

Hi Tracey,

Thank you for reaching out! Basin Head is so gorgeous!

The beach is a long downhill walk for someone on crutches; depending on how busy it is, it could be even farther if the parking lot is full.

There is an easier way down to the beach for anyone with limited mobility. You can have someone in your group go into the Fisheries Museum and let them know that you are on crutches. They will unlock the gate for you and you can drive down closer to the beach and boardwalk! From there it will be much easier for you.

Have a great day!
