What is the best month to visit?
Hi Kathy,
Thank your for reaching out on Ask An Islander. From my personal perspective, the best time to visit is mid September to mid October. It's a little quieter but there is still lots going on.
September 13th and 14th is Sommo Festival with two days of great music and food in beautiful Cavendish.
The Fall Flavors Food & Drink Festival runs from September 25 to October 11. With 20 culinary events at venues across the province, this is a epic festival.
During this time, the fall colors are beautiful and it's a great time to relax and tune in to the beauty of mother nature by cycling or hiking the trails of PEI. Also, the temperature is still great for beach walks, and possibly swimming. Check out the PEI National Park beaches in Cavendish and Greenwich. Both are on the north shore and also have great trails with breathtaking views of the sand dunes and ocean. Great photo opportunities!
One of my favorite beach walks is from Blackbush Resort on the north shore at Grand Tracadie. Afterwards, enjoy some great seafood at Fin Folk Food. Here, you get a great view of the ocean and the sand dunes as you enjoy a delicious meal and a cocktail.
There's so much to do and see, it's hard to list it all. I hope this is helpful.
Enjoy your trip to our beautiful Prince Edward Island.
