Good morning Jena,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. Prince Edward Island is becoming a year-round destination, even in winter. Still, the most popular months are July and August. In the summer, our beaches are certainly a big draw for people, along with our festivals and events.

Fall visitation is on the rise. September and October are popular months too, especially for visitors from the US, empty nesters and independents.

Anyone looking for a slower pace and cooler temperatures will enjoy coastal drives, live music, ceilidhs, scenic heritage roads (below) and outdoor activities. In late September, the Island hosts the PEI International Shellfish Festival, which leads into the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival. This is a three-week celebration of the best local food and drink on Canada’s Food Island.

New this year is the Cavendish Literary Festival. A sure hit for book lovers, those dreaming of writing their own book, and L.M. Montgomery fans.

Be sure to check out our First Timer Itinerary and Top 10 Activities for Fall.

I invite you to download or order our 2025 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter, which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!

We hope to see you soon!
